Grand Again

Verse 1
I've hold on to too many things around me
To find that all these gold
Are not that grand at all

I've hold on to too many hurt around me
To find that all these pain
Can not take my soul away

Chorus
We've been talking 'bout our dreams tonight
Sleeping through these lonely fights
Your luscious words to the broken ears breaking fears
You make our hearts grand again

Verse 2
There are voices that tell me to stop
To put some realism in my heart
To follow the crowd, to aim for the ground
And bury my love

But there is a voice that tells me to go
To put up my dreams and walk them all
To give my heart away, to thrive it all today
And love it all

Bridge
Oh, please, awake my heart
Oh, please, awake my love

Ending
You've been talking 'bout Your plans for me
I know it's good
I know it's best for me
I'm trusting You for all the world to see
How you can make us grand again
How you made me grand again

Mediums

Writing is one of the common mediums of expression. The ironic thing for me is that I try not to nor tend to write songs because I want to express myself. I've heard many authors and songwriters define writing in their own sense and they inspire me much more. Sometimes, I feel lost when I write, it's the time when the world, life, love or grace aren't making sense. Songwriting is like an ocean. It's wide, vast, deep, often unpredictable but I could throw a thousand adjectives to describe this metaphor but there's a large chance you won't get it because that's what's songwriting means to me. It's a mystery. Wondering how set of words and compounded melodies, synced by vibrations made by strings and whatever you're hitting makes a wonderful, clearer picture of life. I never cared whether the music is soft jazz, blues, reggae or rock. I only cared for what a song means to someone, what a song means to me. It doesn't need to be a "HIT SONG" or whatever that means. Even I'm the only one who knows and sings the song, I'll never care because I believe in it. It's more than just me.

4 AM

Verse 1
We left the party to be alone
Near the campire burning
On the sand
Of the beach we're at

Maybe the story's starting yet
Or maybe near the end
We'll catch a friend
And wait for the sun to shine

I will wait for You
Make my heart brand new

Chorus
For all the years to come
For all the hurtful tounges
For all the broken hearts
Here's our new day

It's not about how we got these scars
But how we carry on
We'll sing loud with our lungs
To a new day

Here's to a new day
A toast to a new day
For a new day
Sunshine, You're my new day

Verse 2
Writing songs and tunes to sing
Love is our remedy
To these scars
From those falls we had

But we grow stronger
We grow heart
In our wide-eyed little dreams
Buoyant whispers in the dark

Verse 3
A thousand things might be left unsaid
But we don't need to talk
Just sit beside me
And watch the stars

Our laughs and cries are all we have At 4 AM
Soul is thicker than blood, my friends
Soul is thicker than blood, my friends
Yeah, soul is thicker than blood, my friends

Oversee

Verse 1
The kingdom of the Heavens
Is calling all the broken
Invade this broken town

Let the light shine bright like stars
Burn our hearts with fire
Let ourselves be found in You
I am found in You

Chorus
Let love come surround us
Look out for each other
Side by side
We'll face these hurricanes together

The bride of Christ will sing
Forever oversee
Our eyes (hearts, lives) are set
To the glory of our King
The glory of my King

Verse 2
The sea of separation
Of love and world is broken
Flood this city now

To all Your sons and daughters
Who wandered back in the darkness
Call and wait for us to be back home
'Cause You know I will come back home

Bridge
This war inside
You don't need to fight it alone
You're not alone

There's hope inside
We believe it's our right to own
We are one
You're one of our own
